Cheshire Land and Cheshire Industries are highly specialised remediation and resource recovery businesses.

We were established to deliver a groundbreaking remediation project to recover and recycle industrial waste products from former ICI lime-beds at Lostock Gralam, near Northwich, Cheshire.

Our initial focus will be on 50 acres currently in our ownership, but in time, we hope to extend the project to cover the wider system of lime-beds including those owned and still operated by Tata.

The balance of our land holding adjacent to the former lime-beds is operated as a working farm by our sister company, Holford Forest Farm.

In summer 2020 we obtained planning permission from Cheshire West Council for the first phase of our reclamation project, subject to the discharge of rigorous pre-commencement conditions designed to ensure the project could be delivered safely and satisfy all environmental requirements and standards.

We are working closely with Cheshire West Council, the Environment Agency, RSPB and local stakeholders to meet all these conditions before starting the project in November 2021.

Our aim is not simply to deal with a problematic legacy by recycling hundreds of thousands of tons of industrial waste, but to remediate and restore the site creating an attractive and ecologically rich landscape for future generations.
